Double-tree near Casorzo

The “Bilabero di Casorzo” is a true rarity! A tall double tree consisting of a cherry tree that sits imposingly on a mulberry tree. The Silent Visit with this tree will take place on 02. February 2015.

The “Bialbero di Casorzo” is a wonderful example of harmonious coexistence, because both trees thrive. This rare couple has similar requirements and needs and settled peacefully on a small piece of ground. Both trees belong to the botanical order of the rose family and are native throughout the northern hemisphere of our planet. They prefere warm and sheltered sites and deep, nutrient-limestone soils. The cherry is the more adaptable part, because she is widely cultivated in the northern areas of Scandinavia and heights up to 1800 meters. The Mulberry is one of the oldest cultivated plants and is mentioned in many traditions. This tree-couple is a true symbol of fertility…

The Platanus orientalis (Platanus orientalis) is a common deciduous tree species in South East Europe, East Asia, Australia and Africa, which can often encounter along roads or running water. Characteristic of the plane are its spiny, drooping fruits and especially their platy flaking bark that leaves a mosaic of dark and light spots.

The plane has an astringent, eye and wound-healing effect, relieves diarrhea and toothache and was used earlier for snake bites and scorpion embroider.

It helps to keep track and motivates to make the right decisionsconfidently and responsibly.

European Beech

(Fagus sylvatica)

Now we are getting to the northern climes of this winterly caravan route: in Germany, on the edge of the grove south-east of Hofham in Bad Endorf next to the well-known Chiemgau-core Rosenheim we have applied by a copper beech for a Silent Visit. This European Beech (Fagus sylvatica) with a circumference of estimated 7.6 meters, a height of 37 meters and a ripe old age of about 280 years is a splendid example. While this beauty is nestled comfortably in her deciduous and needle-proned neighborhood in summer, she juts out her extremely straightforward, distinctive character with a lush crown unmistakably apparent in the wintertime.

The European Beech (Fagus sylvatica) belongs to the species of deciduous trees and grows in large parts of Western and Central Europe, Asia and North America. In the forests of Germany she is even the most common deciduous tree and is one of the most important and most diverse timber woods.

In the Celtic Lifetree Circle the Beech is one of the four main trees. The Beech-born are described as intuitive, determined, responsible, trustworthy, inspierierend and mysterious.

Black Poplar

(Populus nigra)

Vienna, Austria

The next tree on the route of the Caravan of the Golden Lifetree is in Austria in a suburb of the historic principal town Vienna. Located at the “Blue Water”, a beautiful oxbow of the Danube surrounded by riparian forest, lies the mighty black poplar is nicknamed “Graureiher” (Blue Herion). The Silent Visit with this tree takes place on the 23. January 2015. This multi-master structure measures a circumference of about 10 meters and a height of about 27 meters. This tree was planted around the year 1915 and is thus estimated 100 years old.

→ The Black Poplar was Tree of the Year 2006!

The Black Poplar (Populus nigra) is a deciduous tree species in the family of the pasture plants. Tall and narrow it is stretching the head into the sky and is well known for it’s characteristic shape. The Black Poplar places high demands on light and heat, as well as soils with good nutrient and water supply. Therefore you meet them mostly as a river guide in the temperate areas of Europe. Like all poplars and the black poplar grows very quickly, their wood is very soft and smooth. The species Populus nigra has become very rare.

From time immemorial, the poplar is valued for their medicinal properties and is used as a tea, ointment or oil. It has the property “standstill” and related conditions, symptoms and diseases to solve and to encourage the “river of life” again.
