5th Anniversary Peace Event
“La Gomera por la Paz” (La Gomera for Peace) is the first peace event of the project Golden Lifetree in this form and at the same time the celebration of its 5th birthday. Right here, on the Canary Island of La Gomera, in 2013, the worldwide peace project saw the light of day and made its first steps in the form of a 3-day festival, followed by the exhibition of Smoenjala’s lightfull artworks of Golden Lifetrees in the Island Government’s exposition rooms.
Under the motto “Painting for Peace” Smoenjala will paint an “endlessly long” banner of the “Rainbow Roses of the Blessing” on Friday, December 21 in the amphitheater of the Torre del Conde Park in San Sebastian de La Gomera. After an official opening of the event, a longtime friend and versatile artist Thomas Müller will give a laudation. The Live-Painting-Performance of Smoenjala will be accompanied by great musicians Thomas Kagermann and Ignacio Fauri. Then the peace flag will be taken over by traditional dancers and accompanied by the sounds of the chakaras and tambores of the local folklore group “Amolán” ~ carried to the ocean. There, the blessing wishes are symbolically sent with the wind from La Gomera into the world. Afterwards the dancing and singing caravan of peace leads to the government building of the island. Here, the solemn inauguration of a huge mural of the “Roque de Agando” takes place with a speech by the island president Casimiro Curbelo. The mural is a gift from Smoenjala to the island of La Gomera and its people.
Smoenjala invites anyone who would like to be part of this peace event so that as many as possible get together and the peace energy can be sent out bundled from La Gomera into the world.
